CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class is designed for people who want to learn how to use basic metalsmithing skills to create jewelry with nonferrous metals. Measuring, filing, sawing, piercing, soldering, bezel fabrication, bezel setting, and bezel setting, as well as some finishing techniques will be covered in four evening sessions to create earrings, a ring and a pendant.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Michele Throne makes her living as a full-time metalsmith and jeweler. She has a BFA from Florida State University and in a previous life, was a Montessori art specialist and teacher. Michele lives in the mountains and her work is inspired by nature and the human experience. To see Michele's work, visit her website, Sidhe Designs. Michele also sits on the Board of Directors of Boulder Metalsmithing Association.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT (what you'll want to bring)
MATERIALS KIT * $45 (what the instructor will provide)
Silver and copper sheet and wire, cabachon stone, solder, bezel wire, saw blades, sand paper, patina.
*Materials kit purchase is required for all our workshops. The kit insures all students have the same tools and materials required to learn the technique and allows the instructor and the students to focus on the technique rather than the materials.
Maximum six students.
All participants will be required to sign a waiver. Participants must be 18 or older.

- Your own cabachon stone (optional, one is provided)
- Paper and pen for notes and designing.
- Bring your favorite tools, specialty tools or the ones you're most comfortable using (optional - if you do bring your own tools, please be sure they're labeled)

CANCELLATION POLICY
- You may cancel up to 10 business days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $10 processing.
- Cancellations 10-5 business days prior to the start of the class are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations occurring less than 5 business days prior to the start date will not be refunded,
- In the event we have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
