2023 BoMA Scholarship
Anyone over 18 can apply for a BoMA scholarship: beginners, hobbyists, working metalsmiths, teachers, college students, even professional jewelers. You might be looking to learn the craft of metalsmithing for the first time, hoping to improve specific skills or considering a career change.
We offer two scholarships:
For the 'Aspiring Metalsmith', or beginner, scholarship includes Level I & II Metalsmithing for Jewelry (two classes) plus 6 consecutive months of Open Studio time. These three multi-session classes teach all the basic skills necessary to make jewelry. This applicant must pay materials fees for both classes.
The 'Experienced Metalsmith' can choose from our currently offered classes up to a value of $750 for a specific technique or project they'd like to learn, or to improve their skills plus 6 consecutive months of Open Studio time. Applicants for the 'Experienced Metalsmith' must be BoMA members ($45) for the current year as well as paying the cost of materials for all class(es).
Apply for either scholarship here. The first scholarships will be awarded in Q4 of 2023.
