Focus on Kinetics: Jewelry that Moves!

Time: 9 am to 5 pm Cost: $345 current BoMA members $395 for non-members Materials kit: $50 Location: Boulder Metalsmithing Association 4919 Broadway, Unit 14 Boulder, CO 80304 Class Description This workshop will focus on interesting points of connection to create flexible kinetic jewelry. Use juncturing, linking, pivot points and cantilevers to join line, and form to create modernist inspired neckpieces bracelets and more. Forge, taper, fuse, solder and combine these techniques to create jewelry with a focus on design, kinetics and fun! Students can make a bracelet, a multi element neckpiece, pendant with tapers, forged or twisted elements – think in kinetic line, with movement balance and form. Students will have the time and opportunity to complete a project during the class. Prerequisites Basic metalsmithing skills including soldering, filing and sawing are required to be successful in this class. |

About the Instructor
Paulette Werger is a metalsmith and teacher who works in Lebanon, NH. She sells her work both nationally and internationally and is owner of Metalpeople East, a jewelry and hollow ware studio She has taught metalsmithing at Carleton College, University of WI, Montana State University, and at craft schools throughout the country. She serves as trustee for Society of Arts and Crafts, AVA Gallery and Art Center and is a former board member of SNAG.

- Paulette will have a variety of argentium wire gauges, sheet metal, gemstones and pearls for sale during the class.

Maximum twelve students. All participants will be required to sign a waiver.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- You may cancel up to 45 days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $25 processing.
- Cancellations occurring less than 45 days prior to the start date will not be refunded,
- In the event we have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
- Registration is not transferrable. You may not sell your seat to another student.
