Class Description
Students will learn how to create a hollow ring or pendant using sheet metal. This technique is a great way to increase scale without a large increase material costs and create shapes that might otherwise be challenging.
Students should have experience with basic sawing, piercing, filing and sanding.
Tools and Equipment (What you’ll want to bring)
Bring your own basic tools. Saw, blades, files, sandpaper, drill bits (#52 or #54), hard, medium, easy solder.
If you'd like to bring silver, you'll need a strip for the sides (at least 6” long and ½” tall) and a piece for the front and back (at least a 3”x3” piece). Suggested 20g.
If you work quickly and would like to add a stone to your piece you can bring silver bezel wire and a cabochon!
$20 materials kit* fee (cash or check)
Materials Kit Provided*
Instructor will provide copper, brass, and nickel.
*Materials kit purchase is required for all our workshops. The kit insures all students have the same tools and materials require to learn the technique and allows the instructor and the students to focus on the technique rather than the materials.
