Radial Armor Ring

Class Description
This one day class focuses on the creation of a multilevel sterling ring (or pendant, student choice). Students will build a circular piece, inspired by an ancient shield, all while navigating the idea of radial symmetry and concentrating on sweat soldering numerous layers as we take the circular theme and begin breaking it apart into more complex shapes and ideas. Techniques covered will include design mapping, sweat soldering, layering and embellishing
Prerequisites
students should have a basic knowledge of soldering and sawing
About the Instructor
A grauduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Design, Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in Art & Design as well as metals experience gleaned both at the John C. Campbell Folk School and Penland School of Crafts. Largely self-taught in the realm of jewelry, Jessica’s unflinching line of sterling and gemstone accessories is sold under the name Rosy Revolver. When not spending time with her family or constructing her own designs, Jessica teaches silversmithing workshops around the country. She lives and works in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina.

- bench pin
- ring mandrel
- scribe or sharpie

- graph paper & rubber cement
- brass mallet

- 20g sterling silver strip
- 1.5mm closed jump rings

- You may cancel up to 45 days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $25 processing. To cancel, send an email to info@bouldermetalsmiths.com.
- Cancellations less than 45 days prior to the start date will not be refunded,
- In the event we have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
- Registration is not transferrable. You may not sell your seat to another student.
