Class Description
If you've ever wanted to make or modify your own metalsmithing tools, this is the workshop for you. Students will fabricate a small forge, learn how to heat treat tool steel and learn to how and cold forge small tools like punches, chasing/reposse tools, wax carving, engraving, riveting, & cutting tools.

None
Tools and Equipment (what you’ll want to bring)
Protective gloves
Eye protection
Ear plugs
File for use on steel
Sandpaper 150/220/320/400
Old steel tools, like files, punches, chisels, or hammers to repurpose
$45 materials kit* fee (cash or check)

Soft firebricks and materials for creating a forge
*Materials kit purchase is required for all our workshops. The kit insures all students have the same tools and materials required to learn the technique and allows the instructor and the students to focus on the technique rather than the materials.
About the Instructor
Russ Howard is a long-time metal worker and short-time jewelry maker. He's currently studying 3D design and 3D printing. Russ enjoys teaching and learning from his students.
Maximum eight (8) students. All participants will be required to sign a waiver. Participants must be 18 or older.

Cancellation Policy
- You may cancel up to 5 business days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $10 processing.
- Cancellations 3-5 business days prior to the start of the class are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations occurring less than 3 business days prior to the start date will not be refunded,
- In the event we have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
