In this workshop you will fabricate a one-of-a-kind necklace using found objects, scrap silver and gemstones. To showcase your creation you will construct a box that will serve to keep your piece on display when you are not wearing it. You will also learn to make your own fold-over clasp for a secure chain closure. In the end you will have true object d’ art

Prerequisites for students
Sawing and soldering proficiency required.

About the instructor
Richard began working in metal in 1969 as an assistant to a metal sculptor. However, metal work took a back seat while he was a full-time public school teacher. Richard picked up jewelry making in 2002. Now retired, he can devote time between making jewelry and teaching others how to do the same.
