We Offer two Levels of Open Studio
Second Saturday Open Studio
Members (Join) who've taken at least one fabrication workshop at BoMA can take advantage of our once-monthly, members-only, open studio for four hours. It's free. A $25 value.
Open Studio Membership
BoMA open studio offers affordable studio time to experienced metalsmiths. Current BoMA members who have taken at least one metal fabrication class at Boulder Metalsmithing Association are eligible to use the studio 24/7 on a monthly basis for an additional fee. (Workshops and events always take precedence over open studio use.)
Open studio members have access to studio tools and equipment include soldering stations, flex shafts, jewelers' saws, hammers & pliers, forming tools, vises, a guilllotine sheer, a magnetic tumbler, a drill press, and a rolling mill. Specialty tools and equipment including Diamond Pacific Genie Lapidary machines, PulseGraver engraving equipment and Sunstone and PUK ArcWelders & Nutec LaserWelders require class instruction before prior to using. Previous training and experience with all of the tools is required to use them.
Open studio members bring their own materials and consumables (such as saw blades, solder, sanding paper, pliers, burs, flex shaft attachments, etc) to the studio. BoMA doesn't offer training or coaching during open studio, each individual is responsible to work safely on their own.
