This is a clasp meant to be the centerpiece for a spectacular necklace. I tell my clients that the pearls are just “fancy chains” for my box clasps. The the whole purpose of this box clasp is to wear it in front either directly in the middle or to one side. The clasp is double sided, always a unique shape and sometimes with a diamond or sapphire set in the clasp release.
These aren’t just any ol’ box clasps. These are one of a kind, engineered to a 1/10 of a millimeter and lesson in precision. They are solid, adaptable to many shapes, and require no back-up clasp. This box clasp will not accidently release. It's bomb-proof.
The discipline learned in fabricating box clasps will help the student become a better and more skilled jeweler. Build a bomb-proof box clasp, improve your fabrication skills and learn techniques that will enhance your construction & precision skills.
Prerequisites
This workshop is for intermediate metalsmiths with solid fabrication and soldering skills and a knowledge of metals studio safety procedures.
