Fold Formed Pendant or Brooch
with a Stone
with Camille Rendal

CLASS DESCRIPTION
This workshop will give students an introduction to fold forming. You'll have the opportunity to play and experiment with the fluidity of metals. We'll create a number of samples so you are able learn how the fold forming process creates 3d forms quickly. From the samples students will create a brooch or pendant in the metal of their choice. Brooches will include a simple soldered pin back, pendants will include a simple soldered bail. Students will be shown how to cut and fit a slabbed stone into one of the folded areas. If time allows students can use the lapidary equipment in the studio to cut stones. The ability to get a stone cut for the project will depend upon how quickly you finish your pendant/brooch.
