Class Description
The spike knife is a classic blacksmithing project. Perfect for those with little to no experience this project pares the ancient and honorable art and craft of blacksmithing down to its essence. Fire. Steel. Hammer. Anvil. Vice. Tongs. (Maybe an angle grinder or two...)

Tools and Equipment
What you’ll want to bring:
Canvas or leather closed toe shoes
Long pants and long sleeved shirt. Leather, cotton, wool. No synthetic materials.
Ear plugs
Safety glasses and gloves are strongly recommended.
• $20 materials kit* fee (cash or check)
*Materials kit purchase is required for all our workshops. The kit insures all students have the same materials required to learn the technique and allows the instructor and the students to focus on the technique rather than the materials.

About the Instructor
Colin Miller is a second generation jeweler who's worn many hats in the jewelry world, from apprentice to bench jeweler in retail, from independent studio jeweler to production jeweler for other artists. He hopes to share his wealth of experience with those yearning to express their creativity through wearable art, and to learn a thing or two himself.

Maximum four (4) students. All participants will be required to sign a waiver.
