A final settlement agreement was signed by the parties in November 2016. BOMA is very pleased to announce it will continue to use the term "open studio" (but not, "Open Studio") to indicate our studio is open to students and artists to learn, practice, create, display and study metalsmithing. The motion to enforce the "draft" settlement agreement has been "withdrawn" by Open Studios. The specifics are detailed in the final Settlement Agreement, below. We are very appreciative of our attorney, Kirstin Jahn in assisting us to reach final resolution of this matter.
We are also deeply grateful for all who have supported and donated to our legal defense, including a $5000 donation from one anonymous donor. Even with these generous donations, our costs were still not fully covered and we continue to seek donations to offset the costs of the litigation and allow us to continue our mission to educate people about metalsmithing. |
