Steel Bracelet with Silver or Gold
with Cheyenne Hughes

Class Description
Learn to heat, twist, bend and form mild steel to make a bracelet. Students will build a furnace with fire bricks, learn what kind of flux to use, how to prepare the metal and clean the final product.
About the Instructor
Cheyenne Hughes is a Denver native who's been been practicing the art of jewelry making and metalsmithing since 2009. He apprenticed with Ira Sherman for 5 years, helping to shape his understanding of aesthetics, design, and metals as a whole. Cheyenne also worked as a bench jeweler where he learned many of the practical skills he uses and teaches today, including flush & hammer setting.
He owns Beast of Burden Jewelry, offering custom jewelry, jewelry repair, and services to other jewelers such as casting, molding, stone setting, and limited production.
Prerequisites
Students should be comfortable using a torch and hammer.

- Steel brush (from welding store like General Air)
- Copper, sterling silver or gold scrap for melting unto steel (optional)

CANCELLATION POLICY
- You may cancel up to 14 days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $25 processing. Send an email to info@bouldermetalsmiths.com
- Cancellations occurring less than 14 days prior to the start date will not be refunded.
- In the event we have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
- Registration is not transferrable. You may not sell your seat to another student.
