BoMA open studio offers affordable studio time to experienced metalsmiths. Current BoMA members who have taken at least one fabrication class at Boulder Metalsmithing Association are eligible to use the studio on a monthly basis. You must meet with the director, tour the studio and complete a waiver and a contract before purchasing open studio time.
Open studio members have access to studio tools and equipment include soldering stations, flex shafts, jewelers' saws, hammers & pliers, forming tools, vises, a guilllotine sheer, magnetic tumbler, drill press, lapidary equipment, rolling mill and a hydraulic press. Previous training and experience with all of the tools is required to use them.
Open studio members bring their own materials and consumables (such as saw blades, solder, sanding paper, burs, flex shaft attachments, etc) to the studio. BoMA doesn't offer training or coaching during open studio, each individual is responsible to work safely on their own.
